J’adore VoxBox

I recently received a VoxBox from Influenster to test out some products! I think it was Valentine’s Day themed (I received it after Valentine’s Day). I feel a little bad about taking so long to post this, but I wanted to try the products before I actually review them. what a concept.

The first item that I tried was the Red Rose Simply Indulgent Tea– more specifically, Crème Caramel.

Holy delicious. It really tastes like there’s caramel in there. As delicious as the tea was, I always look at the ingredients of my food/drinks.

I don’t really know how they get the last 2 ingredients (I looked up some examples), but I don’t like the sound of it for my tea.

I DO know that according to the FDA, “natural” on means

the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional.

The big picture– Natural is vague and can mean a lot of things. It tasted good but I won’t be buying it.

The next items I tried were Hershey Kisses

chocolate candy jar

Most of you may know that I’m not a chocolate lover. However, certain times of the month I will crave anything sweet- ladies, you know what I’m talking about. Hershey Kisses are perfect because they are bite sized. I can eat one and it satisfies my craving. And then I’m back to disliking chocolate.

Luckily I keep a candy jar on my desk at work for coworkers. Unlike me, most of them are obsessed with chocolate. So I poured the giant bag of candy in there. #howimakefriends

I also received Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes

I did NOT try these because I have blepharitis (basically my eye lids have a tendency to become irritated, specifically at the lash line). Plus it’s a little excessive to wear fake lashes to work (and I’m boring and don’t go anywhere).

So instead, I gave them to my BFF who competes in acro. They have to wear stage makeup, including fake lashes. She’s the one in the middle doing the splits.

Again, she's in the middle (doin the splits)

You’re welcome to now feel inadequate about yourself.

My favorite item was the Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask!

Do I have something on my face?
Do I have something on my face?

Can’t believe I just posted that on the internet. oh well, you can always delete things from the internet and it’s like it was never there…

Even if it did nothing for my face, at least I had too much fun putting it on. You leave it on for 10 minutes, and it dries and hardens (you can see it starting to dry). But after removing my mask, my face felt clean and baby’s bottom smooth. Definitely a keeper!

The final item that I tried was the John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray.

Unfortunately I wasn’t too impressed by this. Keep in mind, I have VERY frizzy hair that is naturally wavy. This type of hair is known to be hard to tame. If you have fairly straight hair with a little bit of frizz, this might work for you.

Have you tried any of these products?

Do you put candy out for coworkers? I’m kind of obsessed with doing this.

Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

  1. I’ve tried Frizz Ease before but not a huge fan..way to share your candy, you’re so nice (mine would have been slowly eaten)

  2. I thought my flexibility was bad, but heck its horrific now! 😉 Out of all of that, I’d go for the chocolate, I’m not one for tea unless its decaf couldn’t stick fake eyelashes on…Hmmm, I really want some chocolate now! haha

      1. Haha! Ohh no, I’m giving up chocolate for Lent, well attempting to give it up…I’ve accidently eaten it on a cereal bar…and a choc milkshake…Woops!

  3. I would be thrilled if I could do the splits let alone all that! The creme carmel sounds yummy, I’m always up for trying new kinds of tea. If you like tea you should check out Tevana they have such an amazing selection to choose from!

  4. I really need to start looking into these kinds of boxes. It’d be awesome to hear the doorbell ring randomly one day and there be a box full of goodies just waiting for me haha. That tea looks so interesting! I’d love to try it.

  5. AHHH you’re so cute! And I definitely feel completely inadequate after looking at that picture of your friend.

I am not the biggest fan of tea, so I would probably be wary of that right off the bat, but I’d try it. I also don’t often eat chocolate. But I love trying new beauty products and that mask sounds awesome. I’ve actually tried that flat iron spray before, but it worked pretty well for me. Probably because my hair is really flat to begin with.

  6. I laughed in the face of frizz ease 🙂 It was not made to handle ethnic hair so I’m not surprised you didn’t love it. I would be all over that face mask! I am a product whore for all things face. I used to wear fake eyelashes all the time on dance team but it’s been awhile. I don’t think I could pull them off at work either. Unless I was a gogo dancer.

  7. There’s nothing quite like a good mud mask. It’s been a while since I’ve found one that is worth using. It’s kind of hard to find masks these days that are clay/mud vs. all that other gel crud they sell.

Talk to me!
