Weekend Update

Tangent Tuesday – Cookies, Yoga, and Cowboys, oh my!

HIIT class

Hope everyone had a great weekend (and a Happy Easter if you celebrate!)! My weekend started off with some yoga after work with friends. I’ve fallen in love with CorePower Yoga– more on that later this week πŸ™‚ But here’s a sneak peak:

Kyle and I have had a deal for the past couple of years now.Β He does our taxes and I bake him my homemade chocolate chip cookies. Nice and chewy on the inside, of course. I bet you aren’t allowed to pay your tax guy the same way πŸ˜‰

My sister had the family dog (Sienna) for the past week. She lives in SoCal while she’s in school, but she finished up a quarter early(!!) so she took our dog for funzies and walked her friends to class.

Aren’t you jealous? I was. I wish I could have had my dog walk me to class πŸ˜‰

My sister and Sienna also got some good use out of our Kurgo dog hammock. I wish I looked this comfortable on 6 hour road trips

Anyways, after my 6:30 AM Saturday class, I went on a nice and easy run. The only benefit to a class that early is getting out on my run before it gets hot.

Later that day, Kyle and I headed out to his best bud’s engagement party!! We’re finally at that age where our friends are getting married. So weird. It was a rodeo themed party so we had to dress the part.

And of course we had Easter Sunday with family and friends! I brought some brie and blackberry tarts for appetizers and a lighter fruit platter.

Chewy or crunchy cookies? Chewy, duh.

Have you ever had a pet walk you to class? I was always jealous of kids in elementary school whose moms would walk them to class with their dog. My mom worked full-time. Damn needing food on the table and what not.

What has been your favorite themed party?

What did you do for Easter?

  1. That is a great deal you have with Kyle, especially since those cookies look so good. And a rodeo themed engagement party? That is brilliant! Your fruit platter looks so good (fruit is my craving these days).

  2. haha, such a fun deal. i totally believe in baked goods bartering! i’d choose chewy cookies as well, i think, except i really like ginger snaps and thin mints and shortbreads, sooo maybe i’m a tie? (can you tell there are a bajillion Girl Scout cookies around my office right now? self control is the name of the game lately!) for Easter i went upstate to spend a relaxing wknd with the fam, and saw my bff and her lil baby, and got two new pairs of running shoes. amazingness all around.

  3. So if I bake and ship cookies to you all will Kyle do my taxes too? I’m easy, I don’t own any homes or boats or such πŸ™‚

Haha oh my gosh, I forgot about kids whose parents would drop them off with their pets!!!! We never had any (boo) and yes, I would always be jealous of them!

Also, that sounds like a super fun enganement party theme!

  4. I love the cookies for taxes deal! My sister is a CPA and Ryan is in finance, so I think I’m set. I told them that I’ll check their ears.

Aw, rodeo-themed party sounds fun! I hope you got to square dance πŸ˜‰

  5. It’s been so long since I’ve been to a theme party that I don’t even remember. You guys are the cutest cowboy couple EVER! I’m so glad to see you back on here!! You popped up on my blog and made my afternoon. πŸ™‚
Oh and those cookies? Yes please. I will learn how to do taxes if I can get paid in those cookies.
